How do I get my event listed on Mount Pearl's Community Events On-Line Calendar (website homepage)?
To have your event included on the City’s On-Line Events Calendar, please complete the Event Submission Form. Events must follow the criteria listed below to be posted.
Criteria for Event Publication on the City of Mount Pearl’s Website
Event to take place in Mount Pearl;
Event to be from non-for-profit organization or event produced by business as an attraction, in which it is an event that the public are invited to attend (i.e. events at the Glacier or Reid Centre);
Promotion on special days/themes, blood donor clinics, or other as agreed to by the City.

Mount Pearl Frosty Festival
The City of Mount Pearl is known most for its spectacular winter carnival held in February each year. 2016 Frosty Festival takes place February 4-14. Visit www.frostyfestival.ca for details.
Seniors Independence Group 50 Plus St. Patrick's Day Events
Mount Pearl's 50 Plus community are invited to a St. Patrick's Day Dance each year at the Park Place which takes place the Friday closest to St. Patrick's Day. Tickets go on sale early March each year at the Summit Centre. Anyone 50 years of age or older are welcome. For more information call 748-6485 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Each year, the people of Mount Pearl take time to recognize the outstanding volunteers in our community. Volunteer Week 2016 will take place from April 10- 16. Please show your appreciation to those who contribute to the quality of our community life. For more information on Volunteer Week activities.
Citizen of the Year
Each year, a resident of Mount Pearl is named Mount Pearl Citizen of the Year. This event is held annually, during Volunteer Week, by the Kinsmen Club of Mount Pearl, in partnership with the City.
People of Mount Pearl take time to recognize the outstanding citizens in our community. Every community group has a special person and this event offers groups an opportunity to recognize this individual with a nomination for Citizen of the Year...honouring their remarkable volunteer work within our community. Deadline for nominations is March 16th.
The 2015 Citizen of the Year Ceremony will be held on April 8, 2016 at the Reid Community Centre.

Focus on Youth Awards
The Focus On Youth Awards are designed to honor the youth, and adults that work with youth, who make outstanding contributions to the community in the areas of arts, sports, self-improvement and voluntarism. There are 16 awards presented each year. Nomination packages for the 2015 Focus on Youth Awards will be available on February 8, 2016
Youth group leaders, teachers, coaches, etc. are encouraged to participate as we pay tribute to our City's Youth each year! Normally the deadline for nominations is early February 29, 2016. The Awards Banquet will take place on May 10, 2016.

Canada Day Festivities
Takes place each year on July 1st at St. David's field (off Ruth Avenue) from 1:00pm-4:00pm. Help us celebrate with children's entertainment, birthday cake, 'Most Outrageously Dressed Person Contest' for those wearing red & white, and Canada Day posters, prizes, pins and flags. Mount Pearl City Days Celebrations
2016 City Days will be held from Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17, 2016. This birthday celebration promises to be a hit for visitors and residents alike. Stay tuned for the line up and the Family Fun Day Itinerary.

AAMP Arts in the Park Series
2016 Arts in the Park Series information coming soon!
The Series is coordinated by the Association for the Arts in Mount Pearl (AAMP) in partnership with the Community Services Department. The Arts in the Park is normally each Monday in August. For more information please visit www.aamp.ca.
Movie in the Park
2016 Outdoor Family Movie to take place in August. Dates to be decided soon! Movie normally starts at dusk (8:30pm approximately). In case of inclement weather, movie will take place the next night. Oktoberfest Craft Fair

Remembrance Day Parade
The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 36, Remembrance Day Parade takes place each year on November 11. The Parade leaves 10:30am from the Church of the Ascension and travels down Smallwood Drive, onto Park Avenue, heading east to the Legion Memorial at Park Place Community Centre on Park Avenue. The Remembrance Day Ceremony begins 11:00am. Families and individuals are encouraged to come along as we pay tribute to and remember the members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.
Mount Pearl Lions Club Santa Claus Parade
The Mount Pearl Lions Club Santa Claus Parade takes place on Saturday, December 3, 2016. Leaves from Mount Pearl Intermediate School and travels down Ruth Avenue then onto Park Avenue and finishes at Mount Pearl Square (Topsail Road). Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Takes place on the same date as the Santa Claus Parade, on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 6:30pm at City Hall. Come along and join Mayor Randy Simms and Members of Council as we celebrate the festive season. Our very own Community choirs will lead us in the singing of our favorite Christmas carols. SIG 50 Plus Christmas Dinner & Dance
Mount Pearl's 50 Plus community is invited to a Christmas Dinner & Dance at the Reid Community Centre. Usually takes place the second or third week of December. There is a great meal and entertainment. Tickets go on sale the third week of November each year at the Reid Centre. Anyone 50 years of age or older is welcome. First Night Celebrations
Mount Pearl First Night Family Celebrations take place each year on December 31st from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Glacier Arena (usually). This family-oriented, non-alcohol skating party emphasizes fun and participation. There'll be music, entertainment and party favours. Admission is a non-perishable food item. 20 Minute Makeover

The City's Spring litter campaign, the Mount Pearl 20-Minute Makeover, takes place annually in May and June and encourages individuals, groups, schools and businesses to get outside just for 20 minutes to lend a hand and help keep Mount Pearl beautiful.
Free bags are available at City Hall, Summit Centre, Kenmount Park Community Centre, and H. Neil Windsor Municipal Building.
