
Councillor Andrew Ledwell was elected to Council on November 22, 2011. He currently chairs the Engineering Services Committee, and sits as a member of the Planning & Land Use Development Committee. In addition, Andrew represents Mount Pearl on the Northeast Avalon Joint Council and the Northeast Avalon Regional Economic Development Board.
Andrew has grown up in Mount Pearl. He is married to Allison (Walsh). Andrew graduated from O’Donel High School in 1998, and completed a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2002. He has worked for the Federal Government since the fall of 2002.
Andrew has been involved in community life in Mount Pearl since he was old enough to do so. He served ten years on the City Days Volunteer Planning Committee, and chaired the Frosty Festival Board of Directors in 2011. Andrew has been the Chairperson of the St. Peter’s Parish Council since 2009, and the Group Commissioner of the 1
st Mount Pearl Scouting Group since 2008. He is an active member of the Father John B. Kent Council of the Knights of Columbus, as well as the Mount Pearl Lions Club, and he has served on the executives of the Mount Pearl Sport Alliance and Special Olympics Mount Pearl.
In 1999, Andrew was named Mount Pearl Male Youth of the Year and Mount Pearl Youth Volunteer of the Year. In 2010, he was selected as the Mount Pearl Citizen of the Year.
