Mount Pearl Municipal Plan 2010 Amendment No. 18, 2018 and
Development Regulations 2010 Amendment No. 63, 2018
(Telecommunication Tower Siting Amendments)
City Council adopted Municipal Plan 2010 Amendment No. 18, 2018 and Development Regulations 2010 Amendment No. 63, 2018 on March 6, 2018. A public hearing to consider feedback on these amendments will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 7:00 pm at Mount Pearl City Hall.
The purpose of the proposed amendments is to provide Council the authority to consider telecommunication towers 15 metres or greater in height as discretionary uses in any use zone except all Residential zones, Community and Public Service Use zones, and Conservation Use zones; to require the minimum setback from any residential zone for a telecommunication tower 15 metres or greater in height to be three times the height of the tower or 150 metres, whichever is greater; and to align the terms used for antennas and telecommunication towers in both documents.
Anyone wishing to provide feedback at the Public Hearing is required to provide two (2) copies of a signed written statement outlining the objection or representation on or before Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Written responses will form part of the public record. If you do not wish your name attributed to your statement, please advise the City. Should no feedback be received by the deadline, the Public Hearing will be cancelled.
