LIVING IN MOUNT PEARL

Getting Settled

The City of Mount Pearl has a very prominent community feeling. Residents often develop strong ties to the City and are often reluctant to leave. These strong community ties make Mount Pearl an easy place to feel welcome. There are many community groups and programs that new immigrants can become involved into meet people and get introduced to the community. The community also has a number of church groups that would be happy to help new members of the community in getting settled.

Likewise, the Association for New Canadians is a place that can help people to get settled in the City. Contact them if you have questions, if you need help, or to learn more about the programs they offer. You can visit their website, reach them by telephone at (709) 722-9680 or visit their office in person in St John's at 144 Military Road (minutes from any residential area in Mount Pearl).
As well there are many immigrant societies with offices in St. John’s that could be good contacts to help you get settled in the city. Most likely, these societies have members who are already living in the City of Mount Pearl who could provide you with the information you need on getting settled in the city.
