Corporate Services

The Department of Corporate Services provides a wide range of support to all city departments and to the citizens of Mount Pearl. Corporate Services is comprised of various divisions:

Communications and Marketing

Responsible for the management of the flow of information between the municipality and its stakeholders and enhancing delivery of messages between all business units of the municipality.


Responsible for the financial management of the City, including financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipting, taxation, budgeting, debt management and investments.

Human Resources

Responsible for employee recruitment, engagement, retention, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, occupational health and safety, training, collective bargaining and labour relations.

Information and Records Management

Responsible for the management of all records and information throughout their lifecycle based on the City’s approved file classification plan.  This business unit also manages the City’s Access To Information & Protection of Privacy (ATIPP) legislative responsibilities.

Information Technology

Responsible for the City’s computer, communication and security systems. This includes the installation and maintenance of the City’s financial management and other systems, website, phone systems, video surveillance and e-technologies.

Occupation Health and Safety

Responsible for ensuring safe and healthy workplaces and work practices, as well as safety standards protecting the public of Mount Pearl.

Mapping Services

Provides up-to-date property related information on the City. Creates and maintains mapping products, including digital map information for a geographic information system.
