For those looking to make a splash by adding a low-impact, high-energy aquatic exercise to their fitness routine. Aqua Zumba blends the Zumba philosophy with water resistance, for one pool party you shouldn’t miss! There is less impact on your joints during an Aqua Zumba class so you can really let loose. Water creates natural resistance, which means every step is more challenging and helps tone your muscles.
Looking for an intense abdominal workout? Awesome Abs is a 30 minute workout to target and strengthen your core muscles and lower back. A strong core is your body’s powerhouse – it can help prevent injury, improve posture and movement, and reduce back pain. You will look and feel great too! Various exercise options are given to suite all fitness levels.
Deep Water Fitness
Deep Water Fitness is a high-energy aqua class with low impact moves. Deep Water Fitness uses the pool to get a great workout without having to swim laps. Tread water, do drills, and use water weights to work your body and gain more muscular endurance and strength. All participants must be able to swim.
Fitness Boot Camp
Fitness Boot Camp is designed for the exerciser who wants to burn fat and sculpt muscles all in one workout. Fifty minutes of alternating aerobic intervals and athletic drills with strengthening exercises, gives you a workout that is intense yet easy to follow. This program is great for beginners and advanced, as everyone is encouraged to start at their own pace. The instructor will push you past your comfort zone by providing alternate exercises depending on your fitness level. Please bring along a mat, handheld weights (if you have them), water and towel.
Fitness On Demand
Fitness On Demand virtual fitness kiosks is the perfect addition to the Summit Centre fitness classes. Virtual classes, including kickboxing, yoga, cycling and dance are taught by world-class instructors, and can be played on-demand, or at pre-scheduled times, offering unparalleled flexibility and access to a variety of classes.
Gentle Aqua Fit
A modified shallow water fitness workout conducted in chest-deep water at a lower-intensity. Participants should be comfortable in chest-deep water.
Gentle Hatha Yoga
Emphasis on breathe, movement, balance, strength, and flexibility. Suitable for beginners and experienced yoga participants.
High Intensity Interval Training
HIIT is a training idea in which low to moderate intensity intervals are alternated with high intensity intervals. HIIT is considered to be much more effective than normal cardio because the intensity is higher and you are able to increase both your aerobic and anaerobic endurance, while burning more fat than ever before.
Mom & Baby, Legs Bums & Tums
Tone up, firm up and burn fat from your tummy, hips, thighs and bottom with this 50 minute class. We will target these areas with a wide range exercises to shape and tone the body. You can bring your baby along to this child friendly environment too. Please bring a mat and water bottle, and get ready to get into great shape.
Parent & Baby Boot Camp
Bring baby – get fit boot camp style! If you are looking for a high energy indoor workout – this class is for you. Parent & Baby Boot Camp includes a variety of drills that focus on strength, power, agility, balance, cardio and core. This program is great for beginners and advanced, as everyone is encouraged to start at their own pace. POUND is a full-body cardio jam session, combining easy-to-follow cardio moves with strength training and drumming. The workout fuses Pilates, isometric movements, plyometric and yoga-based poses.
RIP stands for REPS, INTEGRATION, POWER. It’s a high rep workout, integrates functional orthopedic exercises, and uses plyometric and power for program variety and training effect. Altering the speed of movement causes your muscles to respond differently, which changes the training effect. You want a strong, functional body, and RIP is specifically designed to replicate movements you do every day. You’ll move in all planes of motion, blast through plyometrics, rotate to create stability and strength, and sing to some of your favorite tunes.
Step n Reps
An interval class that incorporates segments of step, HIIT, and weight training.
Spin class is a fun cardiovascular workout using a stationary bicycle. Your instructor will simulate a variety of sprinting and hill climbing drills enabling you to build your cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength and endurance. Classes are for all levels, beginners to advanced, as you are in control of your resistance level on your bike and how hard you want to work in class.
Stretch & Relax
Feeling a little stiff and stressed? Stretch & Relax is a 30 minute workout to stretch your muscles and relax your mind. A regular stretching routine has many benefits, such as increased flexibility and range of motion, reduced joint pain, improved posture and reduced stress. Experience this relaxing workout and come away feeling more flexible and recharged!
STRONG by Zumba™ combines high intensity interval training with the science of Synced Music Motivation. SUMMER SCULPT is a 50 minute workout to challenge and sculpt your muscles, with emphasis on abs, butt and legs. Using a variety of exercises and equipment, you will chisel your core, tone and shape your butt and legs, and build muscle to help burn fat. This class will help you tone up for summer and is designed to yield results! Various exercise options are given to suite all fitness levels.
