Join forces with your neighbours and recycle curbside to compete alongside the rest of your collection zone for a community skating and pizza party at Mount Pearl Glacier this Fall!
Plus, you can share your recycling adventures on social media by tagging us on Facebook and using #CurbsideCrusaders to inspire your friends and neighbours.
The Blue Bag Battle community recycling competition runs from June 2 to August 25– so get ready for an epic showdown!

Contest Rules and Regulations
1. Eligibility
- The competition is open to all residents of the City of Mount Pearl.
- City of Mount Pearl staff involved in the administration of this contest are not eligible to win individual prizes.
2. Competition Duration
- The competition will run from June 2 – Aug 25
- Tracking will take place weekly throughout the campaign.
3. Recycling Zone Participation
- The city is divided into four (4) zones, based on current curbside collection routes.
- Recycling from each zone will be collected and weighed weekly at Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility.
- The zone that increases its recycling weight the most from June 2, 2025 to August 25, 2025 wins!
4. Winning Zone & Grand Prize
- At the end of the campaign, the winning zone will be chosen by the highest recycling weight increase from June 2, 2025 to August 25, 2025.
- The winning zone will receive a Skating and Pizza party at the Mount Pearl Glacier in the fall of 2025.
- Details and invitations for the celebration will be shared following the competition.
5. General Terms
The City of Mount Pearl reserves the right to modify or cancel the contest at any time without notice.

Your recyclables are destined for new adventures, and the Curbside Crusaders are here to help them on their quest! They just need one last push – from your door to the curb.
Rinsing, sorting, and blue-bagging are all your recyclables need to venture forth towards a new life! Ready to help the Curbside Crusaders? Rinse your recyclables as needed and properly sort them into two bags:one for boxes and paper products, and another for containers, including plastic, tetra packs, and tin cans.
