Call for Indigenous Mural Artists
Public Mural Opportunity In Mount Pearl!
As part of our ongoing commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, the City of Mount Pearl invites Indigenous artists with a connection to an Indigenous community in Newfoundland and Labrador—including those from urban Indigenous communities—to submit an Expression of Interest to create a permanent public mural. The selected artist will design and produce a mural on the stage at Centennial Park, a prominent, accessible location in the heart of Mount Pearl.
Selection Process
A committee composed of Indigenous artists, community leaders, and representatives from the City of Mount Pearl and First Light will evaluate submissions based on the following criteria:
- Artistic merit and cultural vision
- Relevance to the space and project goals
- Artist experience and capacity
This unique opportunity will contribute to the City’s cultural landscape in a lasting and meaningful way. make a powerful artistic statement and celebrate Indigenous identity through public art.
