Public Skating at the Glacier

Due to Christmas at the Glacier, all adult noon skates and all parent & tot skates from Wednesday, October 20th to Monday, October 25th will be cancelled.  

Current programming at the Glacier Arena:

  • Adult Noon Skate (Glacier Rink 1)
    Monday to Friday from 12:00 – 1:15pm
  • Parent & Tot Skate (Glacier Rink 1)
    Monday to Friday from 1:30 – 2:30pm
  • Family Skating (Glacier Rink 1)
    Saturdays from 2:00 – 3:15pm
  • Family Skating (Glacier Rink 1)
    Sundays from 2:30 – 3:45pm
  • Adult Skate (Glacier Rink 1)
    Mondays from 9:00 – 10:15pm

 

Public Skating Types: 

Parent and Tot Skate

  • This skate is for children 8 years and younger and their parents/guardians.
  • The cost of $4.50 for 1 adult and 2 chidren, $3.50 for each additional child, $4.50 for each additional adult.
  • Every participant must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet. Other helmets will not be permitted.

Family Skate

  • The cost for this skate is $4.50 per adult, $3.50 for children and seniors (50+).
  • Parents/guardians must accompany children.
  • Every participant must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet. Other helmets will not be permitted.

Adult Skate

  • The cost for this skate is $3.50 for seniors (50+), $4.50 per adult.
  • This is a 17+ skate.
  • Every participant must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet. Other helmets will not be permitted.

 

Public Skating Guidelines:

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, guidelines have been put in place at the Glacier Arena for all public skates for the safety of staff and patrons.  They are as follows:

  • Doors to the facility will be opened 10 minutes prior to activity.
  • Face masks MUST be worn by all patrons in the facility, the face mask can be removed once you are at the ice surface, and to be put back on immediately when exiting the ice surface.
  • Please maintain a physical distance of at least 6 feet from those outside your bubble while in the facility and on the ice.
  • Every participant must wear a CSA approved hockey helmet. Other ice rated helmets will not be permitted.
  • Sticks, pucks, pylons or chairs are not permitted on the ice at any time during any public skate. Skating aids are permitted.
  • If any skating sessions are to be cancelled, a cancellation note will be posted in the facility as well as on the City of Mount Pearl’s website, and the Skating schedule phone line will be updated
  • Maximum of 8 tickets per group.
  • No tickets will be held or available for prepurchase.
