Public Skating at the Glacier

Starting Monday, January 10th, the Glacier Arena will reopen for skating. You must pre-book to attend any skate. To prebook your timeslot, please click here. If you are booking for more than 1 person, you need to create a separate booking for each person attending the skate. All skates are currently taking place at Glacier 2 (entrance located at the back of the building facing Old Placentia Road). 


January 16th to 22nd, 2022


  • Adult – $5.00
  • Child/Senior – $4.00

Public Skating Guidelines

  • Proof of vaccination is required to enter the facility
  • Maximum of 20 persons per skating session
  • Bubble skates are a maximum of 10 persons as per public health (the ice surface will be divided in half)
  • No sticks, pucks or hockey playing of any type at any of the skates
  • CSA approved hockey helmets, recreational alpine skiing or snowboarding helmets must be worn on the ice at all times
  • Access to the Glacier will be 10 minutes prior to the skate time
  • Physical distancing MUST be maintained while on the ice at all times
  • Masks are mandatory in the facility at all times, including while on the ice skating
  • Children under the age of 12 need to be accompanied on ice by an adult
  • Only those skating will be permitted into the facility to maintain capacity

If any skating sessions are to be cancelled, a cancellation note will be posted in the facility as well as on the City of Mount Pearl’s website, and the skating schedule phone line will be updated at the Glacier.
