Recreation Month

Recreation Month is all about getting active, trying something new, and celebrating the many ways recreation brings our community together. Throughout June, we’re offering a variety of free and accessible activities for all ages
From group fitness and family-friendly programs to outdoor experiences and social events, there are plenty of ways to get involved. All activities are designed with everybody and every body in mind, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone to participate and have fun.
Let’s make this a month full of movement, connection, and fun!
Family Swim Lesson – CANCELLED
Pickleball Drop-In Session
Date: Wednesday, June 10
Session Times: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Location: Reid Community Centre Gym
Curious about pickleball? Come learn the basics in a fun, welcoming environment at Reid Community Centre! This free drop-in session is for a fun, welcoming introduction to one of the fastest-growing sports around.
These sessions are first come, first serve – no registration required, just grab a paddle if you have one or just show up ready to learn and play.
It’s a great way to stay active, try something new, and connect with others in the community!
Canoe & Kayak Try-It

Time: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Location: Powers Pond Boathouse
Ever wanted to try canoeing or kayaking?
Join us for a free (first come, first serve) Try-It session at Powers Pond!
Spend a relaxing evening on the water learning the basics in a safe and welcoming environment. After your paddle, stick around to enjoy a BBQ and music by the pond.
It’s the perfect way to celebrate summer and get outdoors.
Free Outdoor POUND Class

Location: St. David’s Park
Get ready to sweat, move, and rock out at this high-energy outdoor POUND class!
This high-energy, full-body workout combines cardio, strength training, and drumming-inspired movement for a fun and unique fitness experience.
No experience needed – just bring your own mat and come prepared to rock out!
Seniors Walk & Mug-Up
Date: Thursday, June 25, 2026
Time: 10:30 AM (walk start)
Location: End of Roosevelt Ave at the T-Rail
Celebrate Recreation Month with a relaxed and social walk followed by a cozy mug-up.
Enjoy fresh air, light activity, and great conversation at a comfortable pace, with the walk lasting approximately 1–1.5 hours. Coffee, tea, and light snacks will be provided—making this a great way to stay active and connect with others in the community.

School’s Out Outdoor Movie Night
Date: Thursday, June 25, 2026
Time: 9:00 PM
Location: St. David’s Park
Enjoy a magical night under the stars with Elio (Rated PG), a fun and heartwarming animated adventure about a young boy who suddenly finds himself transported across the galaxy and mistaken as Earth’s ambassador to an interplanetary council. With humour, imagination, and a story about finding where you belong, it’s perfect for all ages.
Admission is free with a monetary donation to our local food banks —just bring your blankets, chairs, and a picnic, and settle in for a great evening.
