The City regularly posts any utility disruptions, construction notices, or other important notices on this page to ensure residents are informed. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Traffic disruptions (detours, road construction, etc.)
- Utility impacts (water shutoffs, power shutoffs, water main flushing, etc.)
- Trails and open space disruptions (trail construction, playground notices, etc.)
Wyatt Boulevard Detour Extension
Timeline: Until Friday, June 19, 2026
Trail Closure – Castors Drive
The Grand Concourse Authority and the City of Mount Pearl will be upgrading a section of the Castors Drive trail.
Start date: June 1, 2026
Duration: 3–4 weeks
Time: Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM
What to expect:
- Construction activity and equipment in the area
- The trail will be closed to pedestrian traffic from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
What you need to do:
- Use alternate routes during closure times
- Follow all posted signage for safety

New T’Railway Crossing Construction: Glendale Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue
Timeline: Monday, June 1, 2026 until TBD (Subject to change)
Construction work on Commonwealth Avenue will resume on Monday, June 1, 2026. Lane reductions will be in place on Commonwealth Avenue; however, through traffic will be maintained.
There may be travel delays during this work, so please plan extra travel time.
IMPORTANT REMINDER:
The section of Commonwealth Avenue currently being prepared is not yet a crosswalk. Until construction is complete, pedestrians should continue to use the existing crosswalk at Commonwealth Avenue and Park Avenue.

Asphalt and Concrete Work – 1027 Topsail Road
Timeline: Tuesday, May 19, 2026 – Tuesday, May 26, 2026
Please be advised that asphalt and concrete repair work will be taking place on a section of Topsail Road, between Marlin Drive and Commonwealth Avenue, beginning Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
During this time, traffic delays are expected in the area. Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and drive with caution in the area.

Driveway Access Disruption – Jackman Drive
Timeline: Tuesday, May 19 to Friday, May 22, 2026
Driveway access will not be available for residents at 37–43 and 44–52 Jackman Drive from Tuesday, May 19 through Friday, May 22, 2026. Residents are asked to park their vehicles off-site during this time.

Planned Temporary Power Disruption: Jackman Drive
Timeline: TBD
Time: 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM
The temporary power disruption previously scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, May 13–15, 2026, have been postponed due to a revised construction schedule.
The work will now take place the week of May 19, 2026, at 49–77 and 60–64 Jackman Drive, with updated timing details to be provided once confirmed.
The outages are required to support underground infrastructure work in the area.
Driveway access will be impacted at these addresses during construction activities from May 13, 2026 through to the end of the following week, including the weekend. Residents are asked to park vehicles off-site while work is underway.

Construction: Tavenor Place
Timeline: Week of April 27, 2026 through June 2026
Construction will resume on the Water Tower Access Road and Tavenor Place upgrading project. Residents may notice an increase in heavy equipment; access to properties will be maintained.
