Tentative Public Briefing Session – 15 Kean Place – Discretionary Use

The City is in receipt of an application for a Beehive Use at 15 Kean Place (DA26-0477). As per the Mount Pearl Development Regulations 2010, Beehive is a Discretionary Use in the Residential Medium Density (RMD) Use Zone.

A Discretionary Use is subject to Sections 4.5 and 4.20 of the Regulations, requiring public notice. The proposed use is subject to Section 7.6 – Beehive and the requirements of the Residential Medium Density (RMD) Use Zone.

The applicant is proposing 2 beehives be placed on the property, which aligns with the maximum allowed under Section 7.6.1.

A Public Briefing Session to receive comments will be held:

If no registrations or comments are received by noon, Tuesday, September 22, 2026, the Public Briefing Session will be cancelled and a cancellation notice posted to the City’s website.
