Glendale Avenue Construction

Please be advised that the City of Mount Pearl has contracted Dexter Construction (Dexter) to conduct construction work on Glendale Avenue. The work that is to be completed consists of removal and installation of new underground piping and street reconstruction for the remaining section of the roadway.

In order to complete the work for the project, Dexter will be installing a temporary watermain along the road between Bradley Place and Keough Crescent. A temporary water service will also be connected to each property in the affected area, prior to shutting down and starting work on the watermains. Driveway ramps will be installed to allow vehicle access to driveways while the temporary watermain is in operation. A separate notice will be distributed to each residence to notify when the switchover to temporary water will occur. A notice will also be distributed if Dexter requires access to your property to facilitate the temporary water hookup.

The road will remain open as much as possible and there will always access available for local traffic. Excavations will be identified and barricaded accordingly, but please drive cautiously around these areas as crews will be working. Traffic control personnel will be in place to help facilitate traffic flow.

Additional safety precautions will be in place due to COVID-19. All personnel on- site will be wearing masks to ensure the safety of workers and the public.

Construction will begin Monday, May 4, 2020 and continue until September 2020. The typical work schedule will be 7:00am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. Weekend work is currently not planned, but may occur if required.

Dexter apologizes in advance for any inconvenience and noise this work may cause and thank you for your co-operation.
