Statutory Holidays
The City of Mount Pearl observes the following statutory holidays.
*Holidays when City Hall and administrative offices are closed, but recreation facilities like the Glacier and Summit Centre remain open, are noted below.
- Christmas Day – Thursday, December 25, 2025 – All Facilities Closed
- Boxing Day – Friday, December 26, 2025 – All Facilities Closed
- New Year’s Day – Thursday, January 1, 2026 – All Facilities Closed
Garbage and Recycling Collection Changes
Due to the holidays, garbage and recycling collection schedules will be adjusted. Please note the following changes:
- Christmas Day (December 25): Collection moved to Saturday, December 27
- Boxing Day (December 26): Collection moved to Monday, December 29
- New Year’s Day (January 1): Collection moved to Monday, January 5, 2026
Please place your containers at the curb by 8:00 AM on your rescheduled collection day. Thank you for your cooperation.
