Glacier Arena
The Glacier Arena is the skating arena in Mount Pearl. It is a three-level multi-purpose complex with a boardroom, meeting room, and snack shop.
Arena #1 has 85′ x 200′ ice/floor surface including six dressing rooms, a pro shop, a first aid room, a referees room, 12 viewing booths, a 1,004 fixed seating gallery capacity, a concert capacity of 4,000, and crystal ice viewing room.
Arena #2 has 85’ x 200’ ice/floor surface including four dressing rooms, a canteen, a training room, a referees’ room, and seating for 350 spectators, including heated seating. The Glacier is also equipped with a cafeteria with full kitchen services and standing-room viewing onto Rink 1.

Public Skating Admission
- Adult – $5.00
- Child/Senior (50+) – $4.00
*Parent and Tot Skate – Cost is $5.00 for one adult and two children, $4.00 for each additional child, and $5.00 for each additional adult.
Public Skating Types
Parent and Tot Skate – Children 8 years and younger and their parents/guardians.
Family Skate – All ages. Parents/guardians must accompany children.
Adult Skate – Ages 17+
Guidelines
- CSA approved hockey helmets, recreational alpine skiing or snowboarding helmets must be worn on the ice at all times. No other helmets will be accepted.
- Sticks, pucks, pylons, chairs, sleds, strollers or hockey pucks are not permitted on the ice at any time during any public skate. Skating aids are permitted.
- Children age of 12 and under must be accompanied on ice by an adult.
If any skating sessions are to be cancelled, a cancellation note will be posted in the facility as well as on the City of Mount Pearl’s website, and the skating schedule phone line will be updated at the Glacier.
Canteens
Two canteens are located at the Glacier Arena; one at Glacier 1 and another at Glacier 2. Effective Friday, March 10th, both canteens at the Glacier Arena will reopen under a new vendor, Fireside Café. Hours of operation for the remainder of the season are as follows:
Glacier 1
Sundays – 7pm to 9:30pm
Mondays – 7pm to 10:30pm
Glacier 2
Saturdays – 8am to 4pm
Sundays – 8am to 4pm
Additional hours of operation will be determined based on operations and will be posted on a weekly basis.
