The City’s annual spring clean-up takes place in May and June. Everyone is encouraged to lend a hand for just 20 minutes to help pick up litter around homes, buildings, parks, walkways and neighbourhoods.
From May to June, whenever your schedule allows! Plan your 20 Minute Makeover by working with families, neighbours, friends, group leaders, supervisors, colleagues, teachers and students.
Free bags are available at City Hall, the Summit Centre, Gloria Pearson Community Centre, and H. Neil Windsor Municipal Building. Bags will also be available at Tim Hortons drive-thru in early May.
Where to Clean-Up
Around your school, business, neighbourhood, nearby walking trails, playgrounds, etc. If you would like more information on areas that are in great need of a clean up, please contact us.
How to Register
Contact Sean McKenna at 748-1046 or firstname.lastname@example.org, pick up a registration form at City Hall or the Summit Centre, or register online. While registration is not mandatory to participate, it is appreciated and helps us measure our success and say a special thank you to participants.

We Need Your Help

Many thanks to major sponsor Tim Hortons, and all other supporting businesses.
Annually, the City holds a Clean-Up Blitz along the Waterford River.
The City of Mount Pearl is holding a launch event for the 20 Minute Makeover and the Waterford River Clean-Up, both sponsored by Tim Hortons, on Saturday, May 11th from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.
We are looking for volunteers – including businesses, residents, and community groups – to help pick up litter and small debris around Powers Pond and along the Waterford River banks.
Meet us at the Powers Pond Boat House for 10:00 am to sign-up, receive supplies and commence clean-up. Afterwards, join members of Council at Powers Pond Park for treats, pizza, a bouncy castle, and more!
For more information, please contact Sean McKenna at 748-1046 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Want to keep Mount Pearl Green and make a difference in your community? Adopt-A-Park! Volunteer as much or as little time as you can. You can pick up litter, water grass, weeds, help with spring clean-up or help curb vandalism. Whatever you do, you can make a difference.
