Solstice Celebration

In this time of long nights and short days, there are lots of reasons that people come together and celebrate! Join us for this family-friendly gathering to enjoy this magical time of year and connect our celebrations with what is happening in the natural world too.
We will make animal-friendly decorations to string on the outdoor trees: popcorn garland and fruity ornaments tied with cotton thread and hemp string.
We will share a storybook about a family who also makes treats for the forest creatures each year. Next we head outside to decorate a tree, enjoy a mug of hot chocolate and share our favourite holiday songs as we sing together.
** Dress for the weather (expect to be outside for about half the program).
** Bring your own mug and spoon per person. (We will have spares if you forget.)
** Bring a flashlight.
** And if you wish to bring along a hand drum, bells or another musical instrument to play along while singing outdoors, please do.
